The RESPIRA Project was born with the desire to join the Coronavirus Response campaign, led by the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona and with the aim of encouraging companies and individuals to make solidarity financial contributions through the Fundació Clínic per a la Recerca Biomédica. The project continues to seek to get the device to as many hospitals as possible to help in this health emergency.
Among the objectives of the agreement is the improvement of the device, the generation and dissemination of knowledge to improve performance in its use and the technical recommendation for professionals and hospitals around the world, in addition to providing medical-scientific help to other countries of the world who are under the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The project will allocate part of the income generated annually to new innovation and research projects at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, prioritizing those related to viral pathologies, intensive care and pneumonia. Likewise, 0.7% of the income will be allocated to solidarity actions and international cooperation for the prevention and solution of health emergencies in countries and peoples who are victims of situations of poverty.
